British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) Gambling Cases
We are investigating potential cases of negligence, breach of contract and unjust enrichment against the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) and the operators of casinos in the Province of British Columbia.
We recently filed a Notice of Civil Claim on behalf of a client, who signed a voluntary self-exclusion form to protect herself from her problem with gambling, after she realized that she had lost control over her problem with gambling (see the filed Notice of Civil Claim here). The self-exclusion program is offered by the BCLC and its casino operators as a program that will protect persons who suffer from problem gambling and who seek help by entering the program. Our client signed the self-exclusion form and continued to go to the same casinos after entering into the program, without ever being prevented from physically entering the casinos or from continuing to gamble.
Should you have entered into the self-exclusion program in British Columbia, due to a problem with gambling, and should you have continued to gamble without being prevented from doing so, you may have a case. For an evaluation of your claim, please contact Jim A. Hanson of our firm at (604) 583-2200.
